About (The Cliff Notes version)

Name:  Andrew

Location:  Bergen County, New Jersey

Special skills:  Apple cider connoisseur, ability to eat shockingly hot peppers for a white guy, hosting the Oscars:  1991-1993, 1995

About my blog:  Listen to Hall and Oates while reading, it really adds to the overall experience.

Thanks for reading?:  Why yes!  Thank you very much.  I owe you a big hug if we ever run into each other.

Do I have a picture of myself with a wooden chicken?:  Ask and ye shall receive…

– Are your initials really “A.B”?  Can I call you “Alphabet Starter”?

Yes.  I actually insist you do.

– Your last name rhymes with “spaghetti” and you’re from NJ.   Are you Italian?  Can you make me a delicious sauce?

Yes I am.  But I find those to be silly Italian-American stereotypes.  Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to my organ grinder job.

– I think I remember you from your years in the Wu-Tang Clan.  Am I right?

– Do you believe in aliens?

If Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith can defeat them, I’m not too worried.

– Fruit Roll-Ups or Fruit By the Foot?

Fruit Roll-Ups.  There’s no need to bring math into my snacks.

– I’m the Bee Girl from the Blind Melon video.  Can I PLEASE have my costume back?

  1. Dude, fruit by the foot can be so much fun though! You can wrap it all around one finger and make a huge fruit snack finger. Same with Bugles, it was fun to make Bugle fingertips. But anyways, thanks for stopping by and following my blog. You seem like a rad dude so I’m going to hang around yours and see what fun may come! 🙂

    • Your idea of a huge snack finger may sway me. I will try this out immediately. And a huge yes to the Bugles fingertips! …but now the question- Do you make them into “witch fingers” (a la an episode of Scrubs), or dunce caps for your fingers? I chose the latter because it’s fun to say “dunce”.

Thanks very much! I appreciate the kind words and I’m really happy you got a kick out of it. I very much am looking forward to your future posts too! Keep up the great work!

      • lol, they weren’t witch fingers so much as tiger claws. And I would pretend that I could scratch someone’s face up real bad if they crossed me! I might have had developmental problems as a kid… I think I’m over them now, but not sure. I guess the true test will be the next time I encounter a bag of Bugles at a party.

  2. Hey there–thanks for following my blog! It’s always a pleasure to meet someone else from the Garden State (you have no idea how many times we’ve had to explain that motto to folks in Southern California…)!

  3. Loving your writing. I am actually envious of your posts. Since I like to put jealousy on the shelf, I will simply have to write more and see what goodies I can put on my blog. I’m a teacher and back to work, so it’s been awhile… Your blog is inspiring, funny, and vivid. A+

    • You know, I’ve only been on WordPress about three weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with this experience. Everyone has been so friendly and encouraging. Your comment is a perfect example of that.

Your kind words really mean a lot, and I’m very appreciative. I hope people enjoy the silly stuff I write, but your comment really made my day and makes me feel great about what I’m doing. A huge thank you for that.

P.S.- I am a lifelong Golden Retriever lover- love the photo of yours on your blog!

  4. You are hilarious, Andrew! I’m going to love this blah…g. Oh that was just your accent! I get it now! I thought you meant that your blog was blah! Nothing could be further from the truth! 🙂 🙂

    • Haha, oh no, I really hope I don’t have a Jersey accent! I can never tell because we all sound the same around here! Haha

I wanted to say thank you very much for the kind words Marsha- they really mean a lot! So happy you enjoyed, and I hope my future posts continue to make you laugh!

I am really happy I came across your blog in the midst of my late night web-surfing- I always love a great read, and yours is the definition of that. Keep up the great work, because you have a happy new follower in me!

  5. This has got to be the funniest ‘about me’ page I’ve read in a long, long time! 😀 Haha! Thanks so much for the like, comment and follow on the Sunshine Scrapbook 🙂

    • My pleasure! I really enjoyed the Sunshine Scrapbook, and I’m glad my late-night internet surfing brought me to it. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

And I want to say that WordPress users such as yourself are why I really enjoy being a part of this site, and why I’m happy I signed up. The kindness, support and encouragement is unmatched, and I thank you. It means a lot when I see someone enjoys my goofy posts so much.

Much continued success on your blog! Keep up the great work!

  10. What an entertaining introduction.
Here to say a sincere thanks for finding the time and energy to check out – and follow -beeseeker.
    Much appreciated.

  11. You have such a fantastic sense of humor! Thanks for stopping by and following Mrs. City Boy, and it will be fun reading your posts!

    • It really means a lot that you’ve been so supportive and kind about my blog! Thanks Becky- I really appreciate it!

I had a lot of fun on your page- your writing is engaging and inviting! I know I’m going to be a frequent visitor there!

      All the best!

  12. Wow! Thanks for following Shadows. Let’s see what happens; I may have to borrow from you sometime.

  13. Hi-Lar-I-Ous!!!!!!!!!!! This might be one of the best “about” pages I have ever read. And ironically enough, I just talked about Hall and Oates and posted “Rich Girl” in one of my posts last week. I think we were destined to find each other. Consider yourself followed.

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’m surprised you would follow me, since I have no wooden chickens to speak of, but I appreciate it and will try hard to make up for it. I’ll keep up w/ you, too! Welcome to the fray.

    • I thoroughly enjoyed it! And I’m very happy to be a follower.

Haha, well you know, wooden chickens are pretty rare. Sadly, that means less wooden eggs, which means virtually no wooden omelets.

Thanks for the support on my page! It’s much appreciated!

  15. Hi! Thanks for finding my blog and for the comment. I’m so glad you happened upon my words. I look forward to following you! A few of my favorite people come from Jersey.

Now. How is it that you’ve been blogging for only three weeks and have over 400 followers? I’ve been blogging 5ish months and I can’t even get my friends and family to follow me. Thank God for my random WordPress friends. I am obviously doing something wrong.

You, my new friend, have it figured out and congratulations!!

I’ll be stopping by to check on your progress during my late night breaks in between blogging and learning how to steer people to my blog. Good times! And I thought all I had to do was write. 🙂 I was SO wrong.

    • Why hello Audrey!

Thanks very much for all the kind words and support- they really mean a lot!

Well, I started a blog a couple years ago, and I wrote articles I was proud of and was looking forward to sharing with people, but the whole thing just got lost in the shuffle. It was discouraging because I just wanted people to see what I was doing. I then worked for a sports news site, and certain articles were supported heavily, and others were a bit lost again. I mistakenly thought writing (what I hoped were good) articles would do the trick alone.

So, when I started this WordPress site, I made it a point to take time each day and visit other blogs– read them, introduce myself, comment, visit others’ links through the comment sections, and try my hardest to create communications and friendships to both meet new and interesting people, and to give them a chance to see my blog.

It’s worked well thus far, as I’ve met some great and very talented people already, and I look forward to meeting more! Speaking of which- I really enjoyed your blog, and I’m very happy to have come across it, AND to be a follower! You have a heck of a talent!

Thanks very much again- it means a lot to meet such friendly people, and to hear such encouraging words!

  16. Very entertaining about section haha. Thanks for following my blog!

  17. Thanks for the chuckle – love your blog but man, that background is like a Scottish acid trip. Thank you Andrew for your visit and follow at art rat cafe – great to meet you…

    • Haha! I can picture people reading my blog, getting dizzy with trippy visions of haggis and kilts with warped bagpipe music in the background.

It’s a pleasure to meet you as well- I really liked your blog a lot!

Thanks again for the support! Much appreciated.

  18. Thanks for following me. I hope you’re writing for a comedy show somewhere.

  19. Hey there! Thank you so much for following my blog, Adventures in Fantasy. You’ve got a really entertaining style here!
    Take care.

  20. Hi Andrew,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and following me. You’re one of my 1st 🙂 It looks like we both got started in this about the same time. I really like your sense of humor. I spent a lot of time around Long Island growing up (family is from there) and lots of Italian food growing up too 🙂
I’m liking your site so far. 🙂
    PS- Whats with the plaid??

    • Excellent- always nice to meet someone from the NY-area! I appreciate the kind words, and am very happy you enjoyed!

Haha, someday I will work up something more customized, but I’m a big plaid lover, so I figured I can’t go wrong.

Thanks for the comment and the support!

  21. Thanks for the follow, and thanks for the laughs! Your tweets crack me up.

  22. Oh my god, you had me at or as the hip kids say, “the ‘sics”. I also thought you did some particularly fine work on the Oscars in ’95. Thanks for visiting and following my blog. Your blog’s background reminds me of a shirt my father used to own in the mid ’80s.

    • Haha, 80’s plaid- that’s definitely the best kind of plaid.

I really appreciate the kind words and support- it really means a lot to me! I really enjoyed your blog a lot and can’t wait to follow!

Thanks again Janna- please keep in touch!

Thanks for the follow Andrew, you have a great site, looking forward to going through your blogs! Cheers, James 😉

  24. You must be one of those wild & crazy guys with a wooden chicken. Right?

  25. Hey, what fun, thanks for following my blog. Love your wooden chicken!

  26. Thank you for following, Andrew. You’re a joy!
    Best to you.

  27. Rodica Iova

It’s nice to have you following Pepper the dog. She can be a handful.
We don’t have a picture with a wooden chicken, but we’ll survive. We run into a puddle last year when it rained one time, but it was hard to take a picture there. The water was up to Pepper’s hips.
Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy our stories.

  28. This is one of my favorite introductions EVER. “Do I remember you from your days in the Wu-Tang Clan?” Brilliant.

  29. Hi Andrew, thanks for dropping by my site… Have a great evening!

  30. Thanks for reading my blog. I will follow yours and invite you to follow my blog as well. beebeeswolrd

  31. wordsbyannierose

Hey! Thanks for following my blog, I really appreciate it. I’ve opened up Hall and Oates in my itunes and look forward to reading your stuff 🙂

  32. Thanks for following my blog! Hope you enjoy what you find! And by the way… You are hilarious! Glad we connected!

    • Hi there Sarah!

It’s my pleasure- I enjoyed your blog a lot- I am looking forward to following!

A big giant thanks to you for the kind words- it means a lot… Glad we connected as well!

      Keep in touch!

  33. Andrew, don’t know how or why you ever found my blog or chose to follow, but: a) thank you; b) love this “about page;” and c) the hilarity with which you write just made my morning. So, from an old broad who loves to learn new tricks, who am I to turn down a blessing like you? Following back, and (with a nod to E.M. Forster) looking forward to reading your “Blumes With a View.”

    • Hi there Susan-

You know, in my time here on WordPress, I’ve come across a lot of really great blogs by simple dumb luck of finding links in comment sections or on “Blogs I Follow” sections- and lucky for me, your excellent one just happened to be one of them!

Your kind words mean a lot, are very encouraging and much appreciated! It’s absolutely a pleasure to meet you, and I am looking forward to following your blog!

      Thanks very much!

  34. A.B.
Thanks so much for visiting and choosing to take me along on your bloggy journey. Have you ever heard ‘The Bird and the Bee’ do their Hall and Oates covers? Very nice.

  35. Hey Andrew….thanks for the stop and follow at my blog. Glad you did because it led me here and I got a good needed chuckle! I look forward to poking around and reading more. Look forward to seeing you around! Blessings!

  36. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Your wit and sarcasm had me thoroughly entertained. Wish I found ya sooner.

Also, Wu tang clan? For real?

    • Haha, in my experience, just saying “Wu Tang Clan” is pretty fun, so I had to go with that. Plus, I’d look even more like a completely lost and confused white guy in their group.

I appreciate the support and the kind words! And don’t worry, I’ve only been on WordPress about a month and a half, so I’m still a newbie here. Very happy to have found your blog, and I’m very much looking forward to following!

      Thanks very much!

  37. sucha cracker FAQ.. love ur blog totally 🙂

  38. Thanks so much for the follow Andrew, really appreciated. Hopefully will be able to post some more great posts for you to enjoy. MM 🍀

  39. Hi Andrew! Many thanks for visiting my blog and for the follow, I really appreciate it! I hope you enjoy what you read at my cyber ‘summerhouse’! You look like you have a really clever and interesting blog here, and you seem like a really nice guy! I will be back very shortly to take a proper look around (catching up at the moment!) but just wanted to say thanks for now. Have a great day 🙂

    • Hi there Sherri-

You’re too awesome- thanks very much for the kind words! I really enjoyed your blog, and definitely look forward to following and having you as a fellow blog friend! Hope mine brings you enjoyment as well!

      Keep in touch!

      • Aww, thanks so much Andrew! Love your blog, love your writing and everything about this. I’m following! I can’t wait to read more of your very clever and very funny posts. Have a great day my fellow blog friend 🙂

      • Sherri, you’re making me blush.

A big thank you to you for the support and the kind words, they’re really encouraging and mean a lot to me. I look forward to being blog friends and following more of your excellent one!

        Thanks again!

  40. So glad you found my little dog blog, and so glad I found yours! Love the checked shirt wallpaper 🙂

  41. OMG you are so funny. I know that I am going to enjoy your blog. I have a cousin they call AB.

    Appreciate your visit friend~

    • Haha, well you have some AB experience then!

Thanks so much for the kind words and visiting my blog Sindy- I really appreciate it!

Can’t wait to see more of your future posts! Keep up the great work!

      • Pleasure. I was surprised to know that the Monster cereals are only seasonal now. I don’t eat cereal.

Keep waiting for a song on the Monster disco but no song came. What’s up with that? 😉

      • Apparently the monsters tried to build up the suspense, and didn’t have their tune start until about three minutes into that video.

        Spoiler alert- it’s cringeworthy, haha.

        Thanks for the comment!

  42. Do you have a picture with an elephant, preferably a baby elephant? I love baby elephants.

    • Oh wow, I really wish I had a picture with a baby elephant! But I’d probably just make some kind of “junk in the trunk” joke to him, and he’d knock me over, and rightfully so!

      • Hmmm, maybe not. Elephants tend to have a super sense of humor. He’d probably roll his eyes at you as if to say, “yeah, I haven’t heard that one before buddy.”

How about a sloth? I do like sloths too. I once received the gift of sloth adoption as a gift. My sloth lived in Costa Rica and was name Johnny Depp.

      • That’s an awesome gift!

It’s funny you mentioned sloths, as they’re my absolute favorite non-dog animal. I’ve had a stuffed sloth that sits on my car’s dashboard since I was 19, in both cars I’ve owned.

Do you have pictures of your sloth? I’m actually very jealous hearing that story!

      • I had one that used to hang in my office. I have no clue where it went. Dammit!

      • Those sloths may be slow, but they’re sneaky!

  43. I’m so glad you followed me, lest I may never have found your refreshingly witty writing style. You’re awesome! No really, if I had a real life award for you instead of the semi-sorta useless internet ones, I would so give it to you. Instead maybe I will just dance on your page for a bit and shout KUDOS really loud and scare everyone. 😀

    • Well thank you very much!

Your kind words and sweet kudos are a great award, and I really appreciate them! It’s a pleasure to have found your awesome blog, and to be a follower! Thanks for being my blog buddy!

      Keep in touch,

  44. Thank you for following my blog! I’m not too sure why you have as it’s nowhere as entertaining as yours!

  45. codedjeannie

Cute ! 🙂 Thanks for following my blog.. Stay connected, Andrew. 🙂

  46. Thank you so much for following and reading my blog! I’ll be back to check out more of yours.

  47. hahahahaha best tag line ever! Putting the ‘blah’ in blog rofl…awesome.

  48. You had me at Jersey Italian & Blind Melon.
